A 49-year-old California, USA man, Shelton Eugene Bradley, has been arrested, charged and convicted after killing his 73-year-old mother, Rosie Manuel, and attempting to bake her body parts in an oven, because ‘God’ told him she was a witch and he had ‘divine’ instruction to kill all witches.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that the Lancaster born Bradley, pleaded no contest to one count of second-degree murder and agreed to waive any credit for time served in jail since his arrest.
He was arrested a day after his brother called the police to report that he found his mother unresponsive at her Lancaster home. The victim was found dead with her upper torso on an open oven door, with the oven tipped slightly over on top of her.
According to the police investigation, Bradley said that God had told him that his mother was a witch and commanded him to kill and burn all witches. He admitted to strangling the victim, and attempted to place her inside the kitchen oven before fleeing from the scene.
