India has expressed its readiness to assist Nigeria in its bid to end the insecurity caused by the activities of terrorist sect, Boko Haram through the training of security personnel in intelligence gathering.

Hon. Yakubu Dogara in Abuja Friday where he pledged the support of his government to Nigeria’s anti-terrorism fight. The envoy recalled that relations between both nations date back to the 18th century and had been sustained for socio-economic development. He added that his visit was aimed at helping to strengthen the diplomatic relations between both nations.
Speaking earlier, Dogara  called for a more flexible visa regime from India for Nigeria business owners  to further boost the trade volume, which was currently in the region of N17 billion in 2014.  He also lauded the recent boost in the trade relations, which had seen Nigeria becoming the largest supplier of crude oil to India, displacing Saudi Arabia.
